In order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, the Japanese government has declared a state of emergency for Tokyo and three neighboring prefectures of Kanagawa, Chiba and Saitama. 

In response to this, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government will take specific emergency measures which will be in effect until 12 a.m. on Sunday, February 7th, and will cover the entire metropolitan area. 

During this period, please refrain from going out for non-urgent or unessential reasons, especially after 8 pm. 

If you must go out for shopping or make hospital visits, please keep it short with few people as possible. 

In addition, business hours will be shortened for restaurants and other establishments that serve alcoholic beverages. 

Hours of operation for restaurants are from 5:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. 

Please observe the hours of 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for serving alcoholic beverages. 

We ask for your continued cooperation in preventing the spread of the new coronavirus.

国は、新型コロナウイルス感染拡大防止のため、東京、神奈川、千葉、埼玉の1都3県を対象に「緊急事態宣言」を発出しました。

これを受け東京都では、「緊急事態措置」を決定しました。

実施期間は、2月7日・日曜日の24時までで、都内全域が対象です。

不要不急の外出は自粛してください。

特に、夜8時以降の外出はやめてください。

買い物や通院など必要な外出は、できるだけ短い時間、少ない人数で、済ませてください。

また、飲食店の営業は、午前5時から午後8時まで、酒類の提供は、午前11時から午後7時までとしてください。

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government has opened the "Tokyo Coronavirus Support Center for Foreign Residents” to respond to various consultations from non-native speakers of Japanese and other foreign residents, who are experiencing anxiety associated with novel coronavirus infection and its impact on their daily lives. 

The service is available in 14 languages: English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Nepalese, Indonesian, Tagalog, Thai, Portuguese, Spanish, French, Cambodian, Burmese and easy Japanese. 

The center is open Monday through Friday, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. It’s closed on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.
