Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City

4th December 2024

This week’s edition is on the Illumination Spectacle in Yokohama [Yorunoyo 2024].

The Illumination Spectacle in Yokohama [Yorunoyo 2024] is being held in the waterfront area of the city centre this year too.

The main attraction of Yorunoyo is the five minute long spectacle show, “Highlight of Yokohama”, in which 42 facilities, such as the port’s waterfront line and historical buildings come alive in time to lights and music.

The show is being held daily, every 30 minutes between 5pm and 9pm during the event period, a total of eight times per day.

For maximum enjoyment, “Highlight of Yokohama” should be viewed from the prime location of the Osanbashi Yokohama International Passenger Terminal’s rooftop plaza.

Osanbashi also offers large-scale projection mapping of illuminated whales swimming.

Additionally, at Yamashita Park, visitors can experience one of Japan's largest interactive digital art installations, spanning 250 metres and featuring magical lights that react to people's movements.

Yorunoyo is being held from 5pm - 9:05pm between 5th and 30th December.

"Illumination Fest in Yokohama 2024-25", a city-wide event to liven up Yokohama's winter nights, is also being held, until 2nd March next year.

Illuminations and light-ups are brightening up the city beautifully at over 40 locations, including Yokohama's best-known tourist spots and shopping streets, so don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy the beautiful light displays.
