This week’s edition is on the ‘2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics - One Year to Go Events’.

Next week, on Thursday 23rd July, there will be one year to go until the 2020 Tokyo Olympics. And on 24th August,  it will be one year until the 2020 Tokyo Paralympics.

From 12pm on 23rd July, and online event will be held, called “What Sports Can Do Now in Yokohama for Tokyo 2020”

This event was planned with the desire to bring energy to everyone through sports, and will be held through a live stream on YouTube, a new endeavor.

In this event, messages are due to be broadcast from Yokohama-related athletes such as Sena Irie, a boxer, Tomomi Tozawa, a para-athlete, and Takuya Furusawa, a wheelchair basketball player.

Cheers of encouragement from municipal schools in Yokohama city aimed at athletes, as well as content that will boost your knowledge of baseball, softball, and soccer will also be streamed.

In cooperation with many 2020 Tokyo Games partner companies, a variety of contents, including stage performances by artists such as Taiko performer Shuichi Hidano and a special live performance by artistic duo “Alchemist”, will be shown. Contents such as gymnastics, where you can move your body at home, will also be broadcast.

It will be available to watch on the ‘2020 Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics Yokohama City website’ as a live stream from 12pm on 23rd July, or as a limited period archived broadcast until 24th August.
