Information on COVID-19 Vaccinations

PSA Yokohama
2022/02/09

Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City

9th February 2022

In light of the spread of the Omicron variant, the sending out of vaccination tickets has been brought forward by up to a month, and vaccinations for people aged over 65 or over started on 31st January.

Vaccination tickets are being sent out sequentially, based on the date of the second vaccination.

For the approximately 830,000 senior citizens aged 65 or older who received their second dose by 24th August, vaccination tickets will be sent out on 21st February.

Those who received their second dose after 24th August will be sent vaccination tickets sequentially from the end of February, as they hit the 6 month mark since the date of their second vaccination.

Once you receive your vaccination ticket, you will be able to make a reservation.

In addition to individual vaccinations performed at approximately 1,900 medical institutions in the city, from 11th February, group vaccination sites will be opened in order.

Medical institutions will mainly offer the Pfizer vaccine, while all group vaccination sites will use the Moderna vaccine.

For the third jab, you can be vaccinated using a different vaccine to your first and second.

Please consider early vaccination wherever you can get an appointment, regardless of which vaccine is being used.

For vaccination related enquiries, please call the ‘Yokohama COVID-19 Vaccine Call Center’.

Calls will be handled in eight languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Nepali, Spanish, and Portuguese.
