This week’s edition is on the ‘benefit for resident tax-exempt households’.

¥30,000 will be provided to resident tax-exempt households, as a support benefit in response to the high cost of living.

Eligible households are those that were registered as resident in Yokohama City as of 13th December 2024, and were exempt from resident tax for fiscal 2024.

In order to receive the benefit, application is required.

If you have received a yellow envelope regarding the benefit, please check the contents, fill in the necessary information on the enclosed forms and send them by post along with the other necessary documents.

If your household is eligible but you have not received the information, you can get the applications forms from applications support counters at ward offices, or by contacting the call center. Please fill out the necessary information on the application forms and send them by post with the other necessary documents.

Calls will be answered from 9am to 7pm, except on weekends and national holidays.

The call center handles enquiries in English, Chinese, Portuguese, Korean, Vietnamese, Nepalese, Spanish and Tagalog.

Applications will only be accepted by post, and they must arrive by the deadline of 30th May 2025.
