Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City

This week's edition is on the collection of garbage and recyclables at year end/new year.
During the year end/new year period, there will be no garbage or recyclables collection between Tuesday 31st December and Friday 3rd January.
[Burnables]
In areas where collections are on Mondays and Fridays, collections will take place at year end until Monday 30th December, and will resume in the New Year on Monday 6th January.
In areas where collections are on Tuesdays and Saturdays, collections will take place at year end until Saturday 28th December, and will resume in the New Year on Saturday 4th January.
[Plastic Waste], [Cans/Bottles/PET bottles]
Collection will take place until Monday 30th December at yearend, and will resume on the usual days in the New Year from Saturday 4th January.
[Used paper and used cloth] is picked up by the 'Recyclables Group Collection' conducted by residents'/neighbourhood associations.
As a rule, Recyclables Group Collections will also be suspended, between Tuesday 31st December and Friday 3rd January.
Please enquire with your local residents' association etc for further details on the dates.
Collection times are subject to change so please make sure you put your garbage out by 8am.
Do not put garbage or recyclables out after collection has taken place or during periods when there is no collection.
Yokohama City provides a foreign language version of a leaflet with rules on ‘how to separate and dispose of garbage and recyclables’.
It is available in 10 languages; English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Thai, French, Tagalog and Nepalese.
As well as being posted on the city website, the leaflets are also distributed at each ward office, the Resources & Waste Recycling Bureau Office, and the Yokohama Association for International Communications and Exchanges (YOKE), so please take a look.
