This week’s edition is on ‘YORUNOYO -YOKOHAMA CROSS NIGHT ILLUMINATION-’.
A lights event has been held in the Shinko area of the Minatomirai district since last year, so that visitors can enjoy Yokohama nights.
This year, with the hope that many people will visit Yokohama and experience the attraction of Yokohama nights, a special program of dynamic lights and music entitled ‘Yorunoyo’ will take place in Shinko Central Square and the surrounding area, in addition to the usual vibrant illuminations set up in the square.
A huge hemispherical object, the "Cross Dome", will sparkle in Shinko Central Square. Sensors will react as you enter the dome or walk through the trees, allowing you to enjoy constantly changing light effects.
At the same time, the special program will be held, with Shinko Central Square and 20 surrounding facilities coordinating to produce a special program of dynamic lights and sounds that unite the city. The special production will be visible from the square and Osanbashi.
“Portals”, light sculptures with sensors, will be set up at 10 locations in the city center coastal area, so visitors can enjoy them as they move around the city. The portals can also be enjoyed as photo spots.
"YORUNOYO -YOKOHAMA CROSS NIGHT ILLUMINATION-" is being held from 6pm- 9:05pm until December 26th. The special production will be held for 5 minutes every half hour from 6:30pm to 9pm.
