Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City

This week's edition is on “Yokohama City Fire Department's New Year's Performance 2025”.

In Japan, when the new year starts, a "New Year's Performance" is carried out by fire service related personnel.

In Yokohama City too, the Yokohama City Fire Department's New Year's Performance 2025, held to make citizens feel safe and secure and to raise awareness of disaster prevention and mitigation, will take place in the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse area.

As well as traditional Japanese firefighting performances such as ladder climbing and dynamic firefighting drills, there will also be sales of Yokohama Fire Department original goods, and food trucks will be there too!

The date and time of the Yokohama City Fire Department's New Year's Performance 2025 will be Sunday 12th January, 10am - 3pm. (The performance will take place as planned in the event of light rain)

The venues will be the Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse Events Square and Zo-no-Hana Park.

The stage events program is as follows…

Part 1 (11am - 12:20pm)

Opening Ceremony

Old style firefighting performance, featuring matoi waving and ladder climbing 

Firefighters Band Drill Performance

General Firefighting Drill

Simultaneous Water Spraying

Part 2 (1:20pm-2:35pm)

Firefighting quiz and dance performance by Paw Patrol and the Firefighters Band

Aerial Rescue Drill

The Yokohama Anpanman Children’s Museum’s New Year Concert

Simultaneous Water Spraying
