Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City
18th September 2024
This week's edition is on ‘Autumn Satoyama Garden Festa’.
How about taking a stroll through the autumn Satoyama where approximately 150,000 flowers bloom?
‘The Autumn Satoyama Garden Festa’ is being held in Satoyama Garden, adjacent to Yokohama Zoo Zoorasia until Monday, a public holiday, 14th October.
Entry is free. The highlight is the large flower bed of approximately 10,000㎡, one of the largest in Yokohama.
The theme of this autumn's large flower bed is "Sparkling Hills".
It features 150,000 flowers of about 100 varieties, expressing the joy of the autumn harvest and natural blessings of Satoyama.
Enjoy the color gradation of yellow, vermilion, peach, and purple created by the many flowers.
Masashi Mikami, the PR ambassador for Yokohama’s flowers and greenery, designed and curates the “Welcome Garden” inside the Satoyama Garden.
The brightly colored flowers create an image of autumn festivals and celebrations and are welcoming visitors.
During the event period, there are food trucks selling lunches and sweets made with ingredients produced in the city, sales of bread and general goods by welfare offices in the city, and educational exhibits about environmental initiatives.
We are also holding a stamp rally that anyone can participate in.
If you collect stamps, you will receive benefits such as a 50% discount on Yokohama Zoo Zoorasia’s weekday entry fee, and a ¥200 off fees for Forest Adventure Yokohama or Trail Adventure Yokohama.
Please come to Satoyama Garden, where you can enjoy the pleasant autumn breeze.
