This week's edition is on the 'Yokohama Asahi Jazz Festival'.

The 'Yokohama Asahi Jazz Festival will be held at the baseball ground in Asahi Ward’s ‘Children’s Nature Park’ on Sunday 25th August.

This year, the event - one of Yokohama’s largest outdoor music festivals, held in a park rich in nature - will be in its 33rd year. Attendees can sit on the grass and enjoy a full of day of eating, drinking, and listening to jazz.

A wide range of music will be performed on stage. Popular YouTuber pianist Ryota Kikuchi will be playing, as will world-class saxophonists Vincent Herring and Eric Alexander, and hugely popular pianist Tadataka Unno in their quartet, along with a female vocalist, and the brilliant and versatile saxophone player and band,  ‘Yucco Miller Band’, which performs a variety of music genres. The well-known diva, Yasuko Agawa, will deliver the essence of jazz vocals.

Five amateur bands that have won open auditions will also give high level performances.

Food trucks will be at the venue too, selling tasty food and drinks, and there will also be free events for children that don’t require booking in advance.
