Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City

This week’s edition is on the childbirth expense subsidy system.

In addition to the Childbirth Lump-Sum Allowance  provided under the national system, Yokohama City will launch its own system: the “Childbirth Expense Subsidy”, which will provide up to 90,000 yen.

The subsidy is available to those who gave birth on or after 1st April 2024, and who are registered as residents of Yokohama City until the date of application.

The applicant must be covered by health insurance.

The application period will start in October.

Please apply for the subsidy using the childcare support website/app, to be released by Yokohama City.

A dedicated call center was opened on 10th May.

This call center only handles calls in Japanese, so please organise your own interpreting service, such as a 3-way call, where necessary.
