This week's edition is on medical institutions during the year end/new year period.


[Sudden Illness at Night]

If you get ill suddenly during the night, please use one of the city’s three Night Emergency Medical Centers.

They are open daily, between 8pm and 12am.


The Yokohama City Night Emergency Medical Center is by Sakuragicho Station on the JR and municipal subway lines.

The telephone number is 045-212-3535

Available departments are internal medicine, pediatrics, ear, nose & throat, and ophthalmology.


The Northern Area Night Emergency Medical Center is an 8 minute walk from Center Kita Station on the municipal subway lines.

The telephone number is 045-911-0088.

Available departments are internal medicine and pediatrics.


The Southwestern Area Night Emergency Medical Center is an 8 minute walk from Izumi Chuo Station on the Sotetsu line.

The telephone number is 045-806-0921.

Available departments are internal medicine and pediatrics.


[Sudden Illness during the daytime on holidays]

For sudden illness during holiday daytimes, please use one of the 18 holiday emergency clinics in the city.

During the year end/New Year holidays, from 29th December - 3rd January, and on 5th January, the main consultation hours are from 10am - 4pm.


[Toothache during holidays and at night]

If you experience toothache during the holidays or at night, please use the Yokohama City Dental Health and Medical Center.

It is a 7 minute walk from Sakuragicho Station on the JR and municipal subway lines. The telephone number is 045-201-7737.


Consultation hours are from 10am to 4pm on Sundays, national holidays and from 29th December to 4th January.

It is also open every night, including at year end and new year, from 7pm to 11pm.


Please note that you may need to call ahead to make an appointment if you require a medical examination for symptoms such as a fever.

This is to prevent the spread of infection.
