This week’s edition is on an event called ‘Let’s lower mid-summer temperatures by 2℃! “The Great Uchimizu (Water Sprinkling) Campaign Shinagawa 2024"’.

The campaign runs from 22nd July - 22nd August. Let's blow a cool breeze down the hot summer streets by conducting 'Uchimizu' during this period. Here’s how to do it…

1. Prepare some water

Store water such as leftover bathwater for reuse.

2. Sprinkle the water

Enjoy sprinkling water outside with your family and neighbors.

3. Get cool

The sprinkled water will cool the surrounding area and a cool breeze will start to blow. 

Doing it in the mornings and evenings will maintain the coolness.

The city is lending out uchimizu equipment such as ladles, tubs, buckets, and banners.

品川区から、〜真夏の気温を2℃下げよう！〜「打ち水大作戦しながわ2024」についてのお知らせです。

打ち水で、真夏のまちに涼しい風を吹かせましょう。

期間は、7月22日～8月22日までです。

①水を用意する

おふろの残り湯などの再利用水をためておきましょう

②水をまく

家族や近所の方と一緒に、外で楽しくまきましょう

③涼を得る

まいた水が周囲を冷やし、涼しい風が吹いてきます。

朝と夕方に行うと、涼しさが持続します。

ひしゃく、桶、バケツ、のぼりといった打ち水用品の貸し出しを行っていますので、詳しくは、品川区ホームページをご覧ください。
