Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City
20th April 2022
Booster (3rd dose) vaccinations are underway for those aged 12-17 years old.
Vaccination tickets started being sent out on 31st March, and are continuing to be sent out to people as they reach the 5 month mark since their second vaccination.
Actual vaccination will only be possible after 6 months have passed since the second vaccination, and it will not be possible to make a reservation for a day that is before the 6 month mark.
Please also note that 12 to 15 year olds require the consent of their parent/guardian and must be accompanied by them for the vaccination.
Only the Pfizer vaccine is being used for the inoculation of 12-17 year olds.
Vaccinations are being conducted primarily at individual medical institutions, but from 20th April, some group vaccination sites will be switching from the Takeda/Moderna vaccine to the Pfizer vaccine, so vaccination will be possible at those sites too.
Such sites will conduct vaccinations for 18-29 year olds as well as for 12-17 year olds.
For vaccination related enquiries, please call the ‘Yokohama COVID-19 Vaccine Call Center’.
Calls will be handled in eight languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Nepali, Spanish, and Portuguese.
The telephone number is 0120-045-070.
Calls will be answered between 9am and 7pm every day.
