During the year end/new year period, there will be no garbage or recyclables collection between Thursday 31st December and Sunday 3rd January.

[Burnables]

•    In areas where collections are on Mondays and Fridays, collections will take place until Monday 28th December and will resume in the New Year from Monday 4th January.

•    In areas where collections are on Tuesdays and Saturdays, collections will take place until Tuesday 29th December and will resume in the New Year on Tuesday 5th January.

[Plastic Containers and Packaging], [Cans/Bottles/PET bottles] 

•    Collection will take place until 30th December and will resume on the usual days in the New Year from 4th January.

[Used paper and used cloth etc.] is picked up by the 'Recyclables Group Collection' conducted by residents'/neighborhood associations. As a rule, Recyclables Group Collections will also be suspended between 31st December and 3rd January. Please enquire with your local residents' association etc for further details on the dates.

Collection times are subject to change so please make sure you put your garbage out by 8am.

Do not put garbage or recyclables out after collection has taken place or during periods when there is no collection.

Please observe the rules at Year End and New Year too and keep collection sites clean.

Yokohama City provides a leaflet on how to separate garbage on its website in 10 languages; English, Chinese, Korean, Spanish, Portuguese, Vietnamese, Thai, French, Tagalog and Nepalese.
