This week’s edition is on COVID-19 vaccinations.
Currently, the 2023 Spring Start Vaccinations are being held at medical institutions in the city.
Vaccination eligibility is limited to people aged 65 or over, people aged 5-64 with underlying medical conditions, and workers at medical institutions, etc. who have completed their first vaccination and for whom at least three months has passed since their last vaccination.
Reservations can be made online or by calling the ‘Yokohama COVID-19 Vaccine Reservation Call Center’.
Calls will be handled in eight languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Nepali, Spanish, and Portuguese.
The telephone number is 0120-045-112 and the Center is open from 9am-7pm every day.
The vaccine for the Omicron strain, which is being used for the Spring Start Vaccinations, prevents severe illness from infection with the now prevalent XBB strain.
If you have yet to be vaccinated, please consider doing so to prepare for the future spread of infection.
If you are not eligible for the Spring Start Vaccinations, you should be able get vaccinated in the 2023 Autumn Start Vaccinations, which will begin in September or later. Further details will be provided in due course on the city website and elsewhere.
