Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City
26th April 2023
This week’s edition is on COVID-19 vaccinations.
The "2023 Spring Start Vaccinations" will begin on 8th May.
Those eligible for vaccination will be people aged 65 or over, people aged 5-64 with underlying medical conditions, and workers at medical institutions, etc.
Vaccinations will conducted at medical institutions in the city. Please note that there will be no group vaccination sites.
Vaccination vouchers will be sent out in order to everyone who has been vaccinated against the Omicron strain. If you are eligible for the shot, you can make an appointment as soon as you receive the vaccination voucher. Alternatively, if you have an unused vaccination voucher to hand, you can use that to get vaccinated.
Those who are not eligible for the vaccination should be able to receive it in the "2023 Autumn Start Vaccinations", which will begin in September or later. Please keep any vaccination vouchers you already have, and any you receive going forwards, in a safe place.
The current "Omicron strain vaccinations" for those aged 12 and over will end on 7th May. If you have not yet been vaccinated but would like to be, please consider doing so as soon as possible.
For enquiries about vaccination, please call the ‘Yokohama COVID-19 Vaccine Call Center’. Calls will be handled in eight languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Nepali, Spanish, and Portuguese.
