Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City

This week’s edition is on the Yokohama Marathon.

The Yokohama Marathon 2023, a marathon through the port town of Yokohama, will be held on Sunday 29th October.

As well as being able to enjoy the scenery of Minato Mirai, runners will have the opportunity to run along the Bayshore Route of the Metropolitan Expressway, an unusual and attractive course that offers an extraordinary experience.

In addition to the Full Marathon, Minatomirai 7km Run, and Wheelchair Challenge, new events have been added this year, so more people can enjoy participating.

They include the "Pair Relay," in which runners aim to complete the full marathon in a relay format, the "Fun Run (Family)," a race for pairs made up of parents and elementary school students, and the "Fun Run (Junior High)," that can be enjoyed by junior high school students.

Also, continuing on from last year, water supply performances and Lucky Snacks will be provided.

The Lucky Snacks offered will be mainly local foods from Yokohama and Kanagawa, in addition to the standard snack menu (candy, pickled plums).

Please look forward to the performances that will take place at the water stations too.

Runner entries are being accepted until Tuesday 2nd May.
