Congestion at Ward Office Counters

PSA Yokohama
2020/04/01

Every year from March to May, ward office Family Registry Section counters get very busy handling procedures related to matters such as moving, so you may have to wait more than two hours. We ask for your kind cooperation in easing congestion at counters, to prevent the spread of the new Coronavirus too.

Please do your best to visit ward offices on days other than Mondays, Fridays and Saturdays, when it gets particularly busy.

When conducting the ward’s moving in procedures, a resident card or special permanent resident certificate is required. Please check the Yokohama City website for the necessary documents.

If you are moving out of the city, the moving out notice can be sent by post instead of submitting it in person.

Certificates such as copies of resident cards and seal registration certificates can be obtained without visiting ward offices. As well as requesting them by post, they can be obtained in other ways, such as through the convenience store issuing service, so please make use of these options.

The Yokohama City website provides information on topics such as procedures related to moving and how busy ward offices are.

Please search in Japanese for “Yokohama-shi Hikkoshi”.
