PSA Yokohama
2023/03/29

Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City

29th March 2023

This week’s edition is on COVID-19 vaccinations.

The period in which COVID-19 vaccinations can be received free of charge has been extended to the end of March 2024.

People who have not yet received the first and second vaccinations, infants aged 6 months to 4 years old, and children aged 5 to 11 years old will continue to be able to get vaccinated at medical institutions from April onwards.

Vaccinations against the Omicron strain for those aged 12 years and older, however,  will temporarily end on Sunday 7th May.  If you already have a vaccination ticket that has been sent to you and would like to be vaccinated, please consider doing so by 7th May.

From Monday 8th May, vaccinations will be provided only to senior citizens aged 65 and over, people with underlying medical conditions, and workers at medical institutions, etc. They will be offered as "2023 Spring Start Vaccinations".

People aged 64 and under with no underlying medical conditions will, after a short break, be able to receive vaccinations again from September onwards.

To coincide with the start of the “2023 Spring Start Vaccinations”, from the end of April, new vaccination tickets will be sent out in order, to those who have already been vaccinated against the Omicron strain.

For general enquiries about vaccination, please call the ‘Yokohama COVID-19 Vaccine Call Center’. Calls will be handled in eight languages: Japanese, English, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Nepali, Spanish, and Portuguese.
