Public Service Announcement for Yokohama City

This week’s edition is on the ‘¥70,000 emergency benefit due to rising prices’.

¥70,000 will be provided to resident tax-exempt households, which are particularly affected by the soaring prices of electricity, gas, and food etc.

Eligible households are those that are registered as resident in Yokohama City as of 1st December  2023, and whose members are all exempt from the fiscal 2023 per capita resident tax.

However, households consisting solely of dependents of taxable persons are not eligible.

In order to receive the benefit, application is required.

If you have received a grey envelope regarding the benefit, please check the contents and complete the application.

If you have not received the envelope, please visit the ward office’s application support desk, or contact the call center to get the application forms.

Calls will be answered from 9am to 7pm, except on weekends and national holidays.

The call center handles enquiries in English, Chinese, Portuguese, Korean, Vietnamese, Nepalese, Spanish and Tagalog.

Applications will only be accepted by post, and they must arrive by the deadline of 1st May 2024.
