Preventative measures for the new Coronavirus infection are the same as for colds and seasonal influenza. It is important that everyone takes precautions such as following the “cough etiquette” and washing their hands. Please do your best to help prevent infection.
The most important way to prevent infection is regular hand washing.
People touch many surfaces and as they do so, viruses stick to their hands without them realizing. This becomes a cause of infection for them and the people around them.
Make sure you wash your hands with soap after arriving home, before and after cooking, before eating, and after using the toilet etc.
<The correct way to wash your hands>
Work up a lather with the soap, and scrub your palms, the backs of your hands, in between your fingers, and your fingertips.
You should twist your fingers round slightly as you wash them. Wash your wrists too, and once you have washed off all the soap, wipe everything dry.
If you are using an alcohol disinfectant in your hands, you should rub it into your fingertips, the backs of your hands and your palms.
Following the “cough etiquette” is another important measure.
If your symptoms include coughing or sneezing, you should wear a mask or press a handkerchief over your nose and mouth to prevent infecting those around you with airborne droplets.
If your immunity is low, the risk of infection increases, and symptoms may become more severe. Do your best to get enough sleep and eat a balanced diet in your daily life to boost your immunity.
